Horticulture Section
The Horticulture Section is always one of the show's most colourful and popular attractions, attracting outstanding entries from both adults and children each year. From beautiful floral displays and creative floristry to homegrown vegetables, fruit, preserves, jams and local produce, the section celebrates the skill, creativity and dedication of local families, growers, gardeners and home producers of all ages.

Sheep Section
The sheep section showcases some of the finest sheep from across the region, with classes for a variety of breeds and age groups. Exhibitors compete for prestigious championships, celebrating the quality, breeding and husbandry that are at the heart of Northumberland's farming community.

Horses & Ponies
The horses & ponies section offers a full day of competition across jumping, showing, working hunter, down & out, and in-hand and ridden classes. With classes for all ages and abilities, from lead rein competitors through to experienced riders, it is a popular and exciting part of the show.

Dog Show
A favourite with visitors of all ages, the Dog Show features a variety of classes for dogs and their owners, creating plenty of fun, excitement and friendly competition throughout the day. From beloved family pets and talented young handlers to experienced show-ring stars, every dog is welcome to take part and enjoy the atmosphere.

Other Competitions & Displays
Beyond the competition sections, Slaley Show offers a fantastic programme of attractions and demonstrations throughout the day. From the strength and tradition of Cumberland Wrestling and the skill of Farriery displays to Children's Sports, Young Farmers' competitions and family entertainment, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Visitors can also explore an impressive collection of vintage tractors and enjoy displays from the Hexham & District Motor Club, making for a varied and exciting day out for all ages.

Buying online means fast track entry and an online discount. Tickets can be purchased online until 9am, 7th August 2026. Please note, a 30p booking fee is added to adult tickets and 13p booking fee to child tickets.
Tickets can be purchased on the gate by cash or electronic payment.
Members
£20 per member includes:
A schedule and members badge, giving you free entry to the show, forward parking and complementary tea/coffee and cake from the public tea tent.

Our Show History
Slaley Show is one of Northumberland's most cherished village shows
Bringing together generations of local people to celebrate agriculture, horticulture, craftsmanship and community spirit.
The show began in 1845 as the Slaley and Hexhamshire Floral and Horticultural Society Show. Over the years it evolved through several names, including the Annual Sunday School Festival and Flower Show and the Slaley Flower, Butter and Poultry Show, reflecting the changing interests and traditions of the local community.
Since moving to its current home at Townhead in 1916, the show has continued to grow. What started with classes for flowers, vegetables, bread and eggs has expanded to include livestock, horses and ponies, horticulture, homecrafts, photography, woodwork and much more. Today, hundreds of exhibitors and visitors come together each year to enjoy a diverse programme of competitions and attractions.
While the show has faced challenges throughout its history - including two World Wars, Foot and Mouth outbreaks, severe weather and the COVID-19 pandemic - it has always returned stronger, thanks to the dedication of volunteers, exhibitors and supporters.
At its heart, Slaley Show remains true to its original purpose: a celebration of local talent, friendly competition and the enduring sense of community that makes this annual event so special.
